The House

Island Hall is an elegant riverside mansion built in the late 1740s. The house is situated in 3 acres of gardens including an ornamental Saxon island in the river Great Ouse. Island Hall is a family run private home offering tours & teas as well as venue hire for private parties and weddings. Your first point of contact will always be a member of the family. You can also Visiting is easy by road or rail: drive a short distance from the A14 or A1(M) or alight at Huntingdon station.

Island Hall is in Post Street, in the centre of Godmanchester, set on the banks of the river Great Ouse, overlooking the ornamental island from which it takes its name. Beyond is Portholme, the largest water meadow in Britain and an area of outstanding natural beauty, which is also of special interest.

Hosting You

Thank you for considering Island Hall as the venue for your wedding day. We are a small family run and owned venue and as we only host a handful of weddings every year you can always be assured that your wedding day will receive a highly personal service. Our Venue Hire fees include: advance and on day supplier and event coordination, as well as two fully S.I.A Licensed security guards.

 
Depending on your requirements we can offer you an intimate wedding breakfast in the house for up to 48 guests, or a marquee on the Island for up to 180.  Island Hall has set Venue Hire fees & fully inclusive marquee quotes to suit your particular requirements.  Island Hall will be yours for the day, you and your guests will enjoy exclusive use of the house, we never book weddings back to back, so our focus is fully on you.  Island Hall is officially licensed to hold civil weddings.  We can offer ceremonies from 10 up to 80 guests.
 
We believe in a memorable dining experience and so we only work with two approved caterers whose extensive menus can be easily tailored to create the right meal for this special day.  Island Hall does not charge corkage, so you can choose to bring your own wine and drinks.
